Since 2003 we've been sending out a piece of Lochinver through Pies by Post. Every pie is handmade onsite and baked by our Lochinver Pie Makers.

You select the pies, we bake them, and send them direct to your home, office or shack. Available online or in person at Lochinver Larder's Pie Shack.

Heating Instructions

Reheating: If you have a microwave, remove your pie from the foil base and place in the microwave for approximately 50-60 seconds (depending on the power of your microwave). We've found this helps to bring the filling alive. Then, place in the oven at 180°C for approximately 10 minutes.

Alternatively: If you don't have a microwave, place directly into a preheated oven at 180°C for a minimum of 20 minutes.

Please always ensure that the pie filling is piping hot and (if you have a food thermometer) is heated to at least 74°C.

Packaging

We're moving away from polystyrene packaging to Wool Cool, a sustainable and natural material. Wool is an abundant material, as a by-product of rearing sheep. It's important to us that we're constantly innovating and improving, to ensure we're contributing as much as we can in the plight towards creating a more sustainable world.

Just in the last year alone, Woolcool has prevented the equivalent of 75 Olympic sized swimming pools full of polystyrene from going to landfill.

The wool insulation is totally compostable and biodegradable and any packaging used is easily recyclable. You can even upcycle the packaging, from bedding for your furry pets to using it for arts and crafts.
