PIE TRUCK GARDEN

Our Pie Truck is now a relic of the Covid pandemic, when we sold pies only from a recycled truck - as take-away was the only way to get our famous pies.

You are still welcome to sit in the pretty rear garden of Lochinver Larder. Accessible over the summer season, our loch-side garden is popular with locals and visitors alike. Take your fresh food and drinks from our indoor counter down to the grassy banks of the river, or sit by the small beach at the sea loch. Perfection!

Hello "VERA"

We found "Vera", our beloved Pie Truck on an industrial estate in Wigan, one of four ex-military 4x4 trucks converted into a bar on wheels. A 25-metre square platform folds out from the driver's side, from which we served food and drinks through the Covid 19 era.

In the summer the platform is available for open seating, because all drinks and food are now served from inside the Larder shop. Covid 19 is now a distant memory for us and the pie shack, as was.

We hope you still enjoy the elevated view of where the River Inver meets the sea loch, at Lochinver Larder!

SHACKING UP

Ian and Pedro travelled from Wigan to help our Lochinver Larder team set "Vera" up in the garden. This is what they had to say about the set-up job, and Lochinver...

Kick Back and Relax

Breathe in the fresh air and enjoy the stunning sea and river views from The Pie Truck's deck and the many table benches in our riverside garden.

Who knows, Vera may hit the road for new and exciting destinations in the near future. Right now she sits proud of her recent Covid 19 service to pie-lovers of the Larder during the Covid era.

TIME LAPSE

The Lochinver Larder Pie Truck was erected as our Covid 19 Pie Shack, from 6am to 5pm on Wednesday 1st July 2020.

Ian and Pedro from Central Fusion showed us how to set-up the platform and the tent, as well as stabilise the 4x4 military truck called "Vera" since 2014 when it was first adapted to be a "pub on wheels".

Recent storms have destroyed the canvas tent, and then the hard roof  we fixed atop the platform. Alas for the stronger storms we are all feeling from the impact of Climate Change!

If you would like your pies to be sent to your home, without incurring personal fuel miles to get your pie-fix, then check out our Pies by Post service too.
