Forget bedraggled burgers or soaking wet steaks. When the weather takes a turn for the worse, a spread of handmade Lochinver Larder pies will transform your summer party from ‘washout’ to ‘wonderful’.
First, pop over to our Pies By Post website and check out our succulent selection of meat, fish, vegetable, and sweet pies. Second, order enough to make a lot of hungry people very happy, whatever the weather. Third, get ready to receive a mouthwatering selection of well-filled pies encased in buttery pastry lovingly hand-crafted by our amazing team.
Don’t get us wrong, BBQs are great. They signal the start of the summer season, where sun-starved Brits gather to celebrate the ritual of cooking food over fire. The BBQ is dragged out of the shed and scrubbed until it shines. Weather forecasts are checked, fingers are crossed. But then the rain appears, shattering your dreams of a burger and beer in the sunshine.
Imagine if there was a way to throw a party whatever the weather? A party where nothing hinges on the weather forecast? Where you can cook inside and eat outside (and so what if it’s damp? You can handle it!)?
Successful BBQs rely on dry weather, which is great if a sunny streak is on the cards. But when rain clouds loom, you’re forced to flip burgers at the speed of light, or ditch the grill altogether. You could move proceedings indoors and cook a mountain of meat and veg in the oven, but you'd sacrifice that delicious chargrilled flavour.
The good news is that your Pies By Post order will be a cinch to shift from the box, to the fridge, to your plate.
Pie party prep is as follows:
The Pie Club Way
Pie Storage
If you want to order your pies in advance, they can be kept in the fridge for 4 days or frozen immediately for up to 3 months. We recommend that you fully defrost your pies before reheating.
Take it from Lochinver Larder fans, there’ll be no food waste at your pie picnic:
“Wow. The pies look great just on their own let alone once you break inside. The filling is full, rich and delicious. The steak and ale pie was a favourite with proper ale flavours coming through.”
Why not jot down everyone’s favourite pies before making your order? That way the guests are happy and no pie gets left behind.

We all know what happens when the temperatures rise. And no, we’re not talking about the sight of pasty white limbs. Shops are emptied of BBQ food, leaving you with a bag of chipolatas and a tub of taramasalata.
It couldn't be easier to order your box of goodies. And with the pies sorted you can relax and start planning your sides!
Pies may be your picnic centrepiece, but no picnic is complete without a side table of side dishes.
First of all, complement your Lochinver Larder pies with a selection of seasonal British produce. Think fresh summer salads bursting with peas, broad beans, asparagus, and peppery rocket.
Creamy coleslaw with a hint of apple or a side of tangy pickled red cabbage adds a delightful crunch.
Don't forget crusty bread rolls for mopping up those tasty pie juices, and for a touch of luxury, offer a selection of local cheeses and chutneys.
Round out your savoury spread with roasted new potatoes drizzled with olive oil and fresh herbs.
...and for a refreshing finish, how about serving some seasonal fruit salad with your dessert pies?
While we all pray for summer to actually start, you can plan your pie picnic, confident that great food will be enjoyed, regardless of the weather.
